Default Power locks

I have a 97 f150 lariat, I was swapping the ignition yesterday when I realized that my power locks were not working, I checked all the fuses under the hood and in the cab and ask were fine. I have key less entry so when I try to unlock the doors the dome light comes on but no action, not even a single vibration from the locks, when I lock it from my fob it honks as is it locked but still no action, please help!!!

Does it lock if you use the lock/unlock button on the inside of the door?

Im assuming they worked before you worked on the ignition? What exactly did you do to the ignition?

Well regardless I would start with the free and easy check. Check the wires under the switches. Sometimes the ground wire on the drivers side (which forms a common ground for all the switches) comes loose or gets a bad connection. Clean, unplug, and wiggle that wire. If that don't fix it then Id go to the next cheapest solution probably. Replace the door lock relays. Probably multiple relays and I couldn't tell you the locations off the top of my head.

Sounds good I'll check them out, thank you. And with the ignition all I did was swap them out, I don't know what kind of security that has if you pull the ignition will it shut down different accessories or what, but then again all that's wrong with it is the locks (that did work fine before hand)

The ignition tumbler would only affect which key will turn it. It would need to be the same model of tumbler to make all the correct connection AFTER the key is turned. If everything else works after you changed the ignition and it runs then I wouldn't think its anything in the ignition. If you didn't disconnect the battery when you changed the ignition you may have fried a relay or a sudden jump of electricity can create a bad connection in the wires. Also you might try simply disconnecting the battery for 30 minutes to reset the trucks computer. There may be something in there that needs reset after changing the igniton but Im not 100% on that.

That's great! Glad we got your truck fixed! Thank you for sharing what worked as it may help someone else in the future. I read that they might be in the dash but I didn't want to lead you stray when I didn't know for sure.
