depending on what kind of money your wanting to spend and how labor intensive you want to go. Do you want to stick with the same power plant? Could move up to a 5.4? Since you do have a 98 4.6L, from my knowledge you could get you a set of PI heads from a 99-03 4.6l. Besides that there are tuners, exhaust, maybe do a gear change in the rear end go numerically higher which is lower geared 3.73 4.10 or 4.56s... I am sure you could use the search in the top right hand side probably lots of info around on this subject. Last time i seen a 4.6 was in the 98 mustang gt i had those are some of the things i did to improve power.

the PI (performance improved) heads flow better than the non-pi heads. I would stick with the typical bolt ons for now then if that doesnt do it for ya then look to other avenues for upgrades. Curious as to what kind of gains you may get with some headers and an exhaust. Oh, there is the gotts mod. I read it does pretty good and only runs 10-20$ in parts maybe 30 minutes to do.
