Default Overhead Cab Lights

I have seen a few trucks here and there that have the overhead cab lights that resemble a semi. I know where to get them but cannot find installation instructions. How hard are they to install on out SCrews? I have a sunroof also.

I put some on my crew cab and it was not that bad to install, but I do not have a sun roof so I do not know if it will be harder. I got mine at VIP for around $30 and they are good quality. The only thing is they looked like they had been sitting there for a while, so you local store may not have them if they ever did to begin with. Also, I put black covers on mine and gave the amber ones to my dad to put on his F250 because his were all faded and they fit perfectly on the factory ford cab lights.

In my opinion they shouldn't be on a vehicle unless you are over 80" wide not including the mirrors like the law states...

Otherwise they are not required on your vehicle...

It is stealing the safety signal as warning from the larger trucks on the road, making the clearance lights a dress up flashy thing instead of a warning to other motorists like it is meant to be...

I was thinking ones like these though http://www.ebay.com/itm/5PCS-LED-SMO...item3f0fa75bee more low profile and would look better IMO

I'm going to have to disagree with this because they come factory on all Super Duties, which don't seem much larger than your late model F150s, I say this because I have a 2009 F150 FX4 SuperCrew and my dad just invested in a 2011 F250 Super Duty. Plus it's still a safety feature just as much as a cosmetic upgrade no matter how wide your vehicle is, maybe a distraction to some but I prefer to watch the road and not argue whether a truck should have running lights on the cab or not while I'm behind the wheel.

I plan on eventually doing this with black lenses and white LEDs on my 09 FX4 SuperCrew to match my 6000k HIDs and full LED overhaul everywhere else (literally everywhere). Just nervous about drilling into the roof...

Yeah F250 Super Dutys are 79.9" and the clearance lights are optional on these models in case you are going to tow a trailer that is 80"+ in width... There's a few at the dealership without clearance lights...

Super Dutys range from 79.9"-95.5" in width and the models that are over 80" come standard with clearance lights...
