ok thats right. i just check cuz some guy a while back was always goin off the assumption that his tank was dry when he filled up, and he divided wrong. it was a big unnecessary mess

 

I'm running a gas mileage check right now.

I set the Edge to level 1 trans only setting.
Lowered the 1-2 and 2-3 shift points down so it shifts early.
Set the alarm so it goes off at 2,000 RPM.

I'm actually quite surprised on how well you can keep up with traffic without going over 2,000 RPM.

Can't wait to finish and set it back to the number 2 tune though. This puttering around is getting old.

 

It seems the longer the run the truck with the new exhaust an tune up the MPG's keep going up. Started with 13.3 and has gone up a little each time to 14.4, then 15.3, and yesterday it got 16.5.

 

2001 Screw 4x4 w/ 155k mi, getting 12.5mpg with the 4.6l. Only mod, I know of, is a K&N CAI.

I'm gonna attempt to start a new thread that just has MPG improving mods and maintenence, costs, difficulty, estimated increases. Hopefully it will be a one stop thread for "best bang for your buck" mpg boosters, for noobs like me
