So i got into my emblems today, got them off and started using the acetone with qtips. After a long time of scrubbing instead of coming completely chrome they came out as a black chrome look and the chrome letters looked so good i decided not to nightshade them for now. I've done and clear coated both front emblems but not the tailgate emblem and heres how they look in comparision.

It might be kinda hard to tell how big of a difference this had made but it's jaw dropping. I also think this will go better with the black and silver/chrome look im going for.

what was the name of what you used? and where did you get? cost?

Acetone (finger nail polisher remover thats 100% acetone). you can get it about anywhere and idk how expensive it is but i doubt its too much

gotcha, I didn't know the name on the bottle was called acetone. thanks that'll be a good project for me this weekend

well acetone isn't just a name, it's a chemical. Get some finger nail polish remover that on the bottle says 100% acetone, or you can get straight acetone from the paint section, either way it's the same
