I just bought a 2001 f150 4x4 5.4L and I'm getting code P0353 and P1405. I have a miss at idle and under load. DPFE seems to be popular but what about the egr valve. I dont want to just throw parts at it any suggestions?

Don't know about the codes. I had same problem with my 02 5.4L. Coil Packs going out. Ford dealer diagnosed which cylinder. My local mechanic could not.
