I didnt take mine off the truck. I just taped around them real good. Use some q-tips to get in tight and you can apply more pressure with them than a towel. I only used qtips though but youll need alot cuz towards the end the have to be clean otherwise it just smears the paint and re drys.

Ive never done it but Ive heard that you just use a blow dryer to heat the foam/adhesive in the back. But thats what ive heard. To do this you dont need to remove them unless you want to fyi.

Nice truck man, I'm looking to change my badges. I like a black and red theme, but I also have chrome, how do you think acetone on the black would like and then painting the letters look?

that would be interesting, i think it'd be pretty cool. it'd be like a negative look, instead of a black badge with chrome letters, it would be chrome badge with black letters, kinda like the newer style badges but older style

I would love to see the badges fully chromed and then sprayed with the tint, sounds like an awesome idea. Also when i removed that side trim on mine i used a heat gun. Any of the glue or foam stuff sticking to the truck i removed with ether, works the best and didnt eat the paint away.
