I'd do 4.10's with stock 31" tires so you can spend more time in the power range.

I could be wrong but I think stock for the 4.6 was 3.08's. So it's a personal decision, do you want to to jump to 3.73 or to 4.10's. You'll feel both pretty good. One thing is for sure, You're only going to want to do it once.

^Obviously there's no Hp in Gears but it is a mechanical powershift.

20rwhp custom tune
20-30rwhp for QUALITY longtube headers & exhaust

There is no easy answer to make lots of power on the cheap for a non project daiiy driver.

I'd feel remiss if I didn't suggest a 4v 5.4 Navigator swap ""IF"" you can get a killer deal on a good running salvage motor, get it tuned and can mechanically do the installs.

300hp off the bat with stock exhaust.

not a bad idea, I work for a large auto group and could certainly get my hands on a 5.4 my shop rate is $40 an hour just not sure how our techs would handle that swap seeing that we don't own any ford stores, we have 18 dealerships and none are Ford franchises.

Mine has 3.55's from the factory. Maybe the 2wd's had 3.08's?
