Default Lightning headlights.

So my mom went to go get my truck inspected for me so I can drive it when I get home on leave this summer and the inspector failed her for a odd reason.. My truck had the clear lightning headlight and blinker assembly put in with 8000k hids and even had switchback LEDs in for blinkers.. However the inspector told her the reason she failed was because of the placement of the orange reflector in the blinker assembly of the lightning headlights.. Not because of hids nor the switchbacks.. Wtf? Has this happened to anyone else? I live in Texas btw.

That's a stock light configuration there's no reason it shouldn't pass. I'd go back or go to another shop. That's BS

Which ones do you have, I have seen several different "Lightning" headlights.

Still should not matter, but curious which ones you have.

It's not stock config Browning. It's a wrap around one piece (at least the pictures I just looked at) tinted. I don't particularly like that design myself, but to each his own. He said it was lightning headlights, but was more of his old pictures of his truck. Maybe he put the originals back in. If he did that then I don't have a clue. If it's what he shows in the second picture set, maybe he'd fail in a lot of places. Not just Texas. Who knows.

I believe he got rid of the smoked projectors I remember a thread he made about not liking them. Plus he said they were lightning headlights. If they're lightning headlights they are a stock style for the lightning trucks and the reflector along the bottom is legal

Shouldn't there be a dot mark on them?

the problem here is the HID's, here at the dealership where i work they will not pass the inspection (which i just found out also, cause i had to order lights for a customer) they will not pass "blue lights" but since the inspectors excuse was the reflector and not the hid's im confused

Why would hids fail the test when new trucks come with them? I thought as long as they were in a housing made for them it was ok.
