Jayson, where did you get your lightning headlights from? Are you gonna swap out your fogs for depos?

I have 02 Lightning headlights in my 98. I purchased them used from eBay. The look is much better and the lighting output is by far superior to the original lenses. I got mine for under $40 used and delivered last fall. You might want to check there. If not, they have new ones for quite a bit more.

thanks akdoggie! My next question is how did you aim the lenses once you installed them? I bought new bulbs for my stock lenses and once I installed them and locked my lenses back into place, the light output looks like rodney dangerfields eyes. I tried messing with the little tracks and things but can't figure it out. I even hear there is a tool out there specifically for aiming the headlights. Any tips?

If you just changed out the bulbs, you do not change the alignment. Maybe yours aren't all the way into the locking tabs. Make sure the bulb is all the way into the housing and fully locked into place or you'll have the wild eyed look. If one is out of lock, you can get a wild looking set of lights when they are on also. Like the actor Jack Elem? lol.

Lisle, a tool manufacturer, sells a good alignment tool for under $20. So does KD tools. If you read your owners manual, it says how to align the headlights. It's easier to read how than for me explain. The adjuster tool is really nothing more than a small ratchet and socket. If you have a really good 1/4 inch socket set, you will have the right socket to make that adjustment (can't remember size, 5/32 or 7/64 if I remember right). It's the length of handle that makes it easy or hard. Lisle's tool has a good long handle to get down and get to the lower adjusters. You can do it with a little luck with just a regular set. I have the tool, but it isn't necessary, just easier.

I appreciate it! What is it ford and those tools? I had to buy those goofy crab claws just to pull my stereo out. I'll try my 1/4 inch set and see if I can fine tone my lights. Do you see a reasonable increase in light output with the lightning lights? They look great! did you keep the original corners though? I can't tell in your pics.

Nah, you didn't need the hooks for the Ford stereo removal. A coat hanger bent into a long C works find when in a pinch. You don't have to have the little divits at the ends.

I kept my original side markers. Thanks for the props. I like the Lightning lenses, because with the blue bulbs (8000k) they put out twice the light of the old style rippled plastic lenses. I still have to put in the factory fogs, (already wired and switched) into the bumpers. I've had them for months, just lazy. Someday soon tho.
