Default keyless entry not working....it is now

Hey guys .
I need some advice . My HD has keyless entry but i cant get it to work .
the handbook says when you press a number the keypad should light up ...it doesn't .
Also pressing 1-2 puts on the interior light .. no others do
Ive checked on the box under the dash its the right code.. faulty keypad ??
can it be stripped and checked or is it fubar ??

Ok dumb question but you didn't say... have you put in the whole code to see if the truck unlocks? Lights might be burnt out so just pressing one or two buttons won't tell ya much

The last two buttons (7/8)+(9/0)when pressed together should lock the door... does that work?

Mac, do you have a remote key fob? If so, does that work?
(Reason for question: Trying to isolate the KEM being faulty vs. the keypad function.)

..

I think it's the keypad.
been out pressing all the buttons

3-4 needs a good jab to work.
9-0 doesn't work.

all others make the pad light up and the interior light up too.

I'll try a strip and clean. Can't find a second hand one and new is 150 posted to UK.. I'll leave it non working at that price .I'm afraid

Maybe try taking the keypad out and cleaning the button contacts. That sounds like a contact issue

Nice simple fix.. with some issues fixed along the wayPopped the door card off . removed the keypad. popped it apart.. cleaned all the contacts with 1000 sandpaper .
sprayed with contact cleaner. put back together and it works .Also the angle bracket at the back of the mirror was broken and the one holding the trim for the door switches. so got some plastic and glued it into place to fix ..All good. thanks guys
