Well the motor was 3800 and the rest was labor and few other things like a starter. It was expensive but I didn't have the time to do it myself. If I would have it would of been a lot cheaper but now if I have problems it's on someone else's dime because they have a good warranty I'm just happy I have my truck back.

Not everything that comes out of a plant is perfect mistakes happen. Unfortunately I got a bad head but it was replaced for nothing so it doesn't matter that it was. That's why I went with a warrantied motor because yeah I could of just bought a used one and freshened it up and replaced gaskets but if that motor ends up going a few thousand later than I have to start all over and I didn't wanna waste my time or money. I just wanted something once and done. And something covered. They offered me a reman but that was more money with a shorter warranty.

If I was paying over 6 grand for a reman engine I want that thing to have good heads... I would be upset with 6 grand already, and added downtime bc of factory error would be the icing on the cake. Just my opinion tho

No I totally get what your saying. But to have upgrades and other goodies I don't think it would come with a warranty. Not saying it wouldn't be better than a regular engine or more reliable. But I didn't wanna take that chance if that makes sense.

I have done the Jasper Replacement in a much more complicated motor, 2000 NorthStar GM V8. They had Every known update fixxed, similar to how Moog does a "problem solver" for known stuff.
If your truck is otherwise, fine, you Will get peace of mind. ONLY rely on people that have actually done this re-manufacture and upgrade, then, you will know the real deal on sustained ownership. Or go new and pay monthly forever.

Just my 0.02 cents,
jack
