Yeah but I'm worried if something goes wrong then I'm out all that money because I went the performance route with no warranty.

You could probably get several used engines and installs for the price of that jasper

But it's not the performance route man. You can update everything and have it way more reliable than a reman.

So you think it would be cheaper to have it rebuilt? I'm just trying to gather all my possibilities so I can ask the garage about a few different options.

There is a seller on ebay that sells a rebuilt 4.6 for 2299.00 with free shipping and free core shipping back. Three year 100000 mile warranty. Maybe a grand for a mechanic to swap. I have a 97 scab 4.6 4x4 with 206000 and that is what i will get when my motor finally goes.

It just depends on how far you wanna go with it. You can have it brand new or just fix what's visibly wrong.

Well really all I want is for the truck to be fixed and have a warranty so I don't have to worry about it for awhile. If I had the extra money I would love to build it up a little but I can't right now. I was thinking about just having them replace the head gaskets because it might be half the cost. But I'm just worried that if I have that done then the bottom end might go. That is my biggest concern and main reason for wanting to just replace the whole engine.

skip jasper. you can get a ford reman complete motor for $3000 windsor or $3500 romeo.

not sure what the warr would be and i think the dealer would have to do it to get the warr.

there are other engine rebuilders out there that sell for less then jasper and are better.

if you do not go that route. look around for a low milage used.

I understand the high price concerns of all the other posters. To be certain, there are several options that are lower in price. No one that has posted thus far has actually tried a jasper motor.
I have a jasper motor, and a jasper transmission. They are in my Cadillac. The difference is that Jasper remanufactures every part and corrects any known issues with problem solving techniques. The other options that seem very viable are all rebuilt, not remanufactured. It is my opinion based upon 50,000 miles and two years of Jasper remanufacturing that I highly recommend their product. If you check the details of their no BS warranty, you will see that there is no deductible, and they cover all labor and every single part on the motor from north to south and east to west. If you sell your vehicle before the three years and 100 K in my case then it is transferable to whoever is the owner of record. I checked all the other rebuild processes, and no one had such an extensive peace of mind warranty. If you would like any further details, please ask or p.m. me and I will be glad to share any details you would like to know.
