Did u get the oil pan off it might be easer to go from the bottom

Thats probably what ill have to do, but I havent tried it yet... Would I still be ok to take out the front axle even though my trucks parked on a hill? I might try doin it tomorrow.

Just block it and have it in 2wd and put jack stands having the front up higher helps

I did not have to mess with the front diff at all. I just took the bolts out of the pan and was able to move it enough to see the bottom part of the tube that is through the block. It drops down about an inch. I tried an easy out, small things to crush the tube but this worked for me. I would not drill it, that's a lot of metal chips that would go in to your oil pan.
That rubber O ring is what locks it up. Dried up and stuck to the block.

I pulled my pan. The front diff is easy to drop with a jack. It also gives you alot more room without havign to move the pan too much.

I saw better oil pressure cold and hot. I have a a few autometer gauges.

I'd try heating the area around the tube to try to extract the broken piece.

Cast iron swells when heated, it will actually make the press fit tighter and harder to pull the piece out.
