Default Installing Headers FAIL

Alright guys. I just installed my new OBX long tube headers. The install for the headers went (somewhat) great and they are all on, BUT i cant start the truck to hear them yet...

The oil dip stick tube broke of flush with the block and im SOL until i can get that piece out.

Ive tried threading in an EZ out and clamping it with vice grips and pulling but it will not come out. Ive threaded a screw in there and yanked up on the screw, still nothing. There is nowhere to grab hold of it with needle nose. I tried using some snap ring plier things that press out and tried to squeeze the insides of the tube up and out. Still no luck.

Now i'm looking at dropping the oil pain to get this damn thing out. I already ordered a new tube from the stealership so i want to get this out before it gets here. Is it a hard job to drop the oil pan? Ive read that some people pull the motor but im not doing that, i just had my motor out lol its staying there. Can i just unbolt the crossmember and drop the pan that way? Or do i need to take off the front axle? Any help or ideas are appreciated.

I did a gasket on my oil pan b4 you can unbolt the one crossmember and take out the 3 bolts that hold the axle and let it hang down and you can get around to it

Do you think ill have enough room to hit it out with a hammer or somethin? Idk how the things in there but it aint comin out from the top. I didnt think i'd be able to pull the pan just by doing that because oil pump might restrict the pan from sliding back and out...

Would I need to jack up the front end and put jack stands under the axle for when it hangs down?

Pretty simple to do? Im considering just welding the tube back on.. Figure it might be easier that way lol

It's ez I did it twice it helps having a second person to hold the axle while you slip the bolt in

So easy just to lift it unbolt the transaxle and pull the pan off, might as well change the oil anyways with possible shavings in there. Pan has reusable seal. Plus you can clean any sludge from the pan and bottom end. Get pan out, pound out the busted one and reinstall pan and push new tube in. Welding wont work to good plus could lead to a possible fire in the pan lol.

I have pacesetter longtubes went through the same bs sucks but it is truly the best way.

But on a side note sas swaps rock no more difficult oil changes and pulling anything from the bottom end is so easy now lol.

I had the some problem. I broke the dip stick tube too. Take the front diff out. With 2 people you can have the pan off in about 1.5 hrs if that. I was able to do it in about 45 minutes with the help of my dad. use a brass punch to knock it out.

I did the same thing 3 weeks ago. I dropped the oil pan, its not bad at all. You have to play around but you can move the pan over enough to shine some light in between the pan and the block. Take the oil drain plug out and look in. The plug and the broken tube are in line. I used a piece of allthread rod and a hammer. I covered the rod with duct tape because it is very close to the bottom of a crank lobe.with the pan sitting off to the side allowing light you have enough room to see the rod when it touched the broken tube. Very carefully, gently tap the rod wth a hammer. If it falls in to the pan just use a magnet to get it out. I feel your pain.
I have had code after code pop up after my header swap 3 weeks ago. New DPFE, 2 upper o2 sensors, new vacuum tubes and today I get to Finnish replacing the other 2 o2 sensors. The one would not come out so I resorted to aggressive removal. That requires a torch, hammer and swearing.
By the way mine is a 97 4.6.
