I had a 650 double pumper in my 67 Camaro and it sounds like that flat spot hesitation is the accelerator pump needs replaced. Thats a nice ride, your customer had no business with that car what a mess with those wires! great project car for you., have fun with it! I almost bought a 72 with 351 Cleveland many many years ago, wish i had.

How certain are you that you had those rims? Reason I ask cause 1 guy was told me those are 80’s style rims. I was a bit disappointed cause I want it to be period correct. 66 is closer to 70 than 80 is.

judging off the casting number on the heads, its out of a 70-72 thunderbird. 1970 started the emission integration in the 429...then after the 72 model year, the 429 was dead

Thank you. They did tile work or concrete or something. They hooked up the ignition wire to ground at some point and it’s melted from the column to the main wiring harnesses. Also all the gauges don’t work cause the messed up all those wires and broke the gauges putting those stickers on to makes the faces white. I did double everything they did to the car. The disc brakes on the car are good. The electric fuel pump is good but it needs a emergency shut off and it would be better if it wasn’t a dead head system. Channel locks where used on the fittings and they have tool marks on them.

How can I get a moderator on this thread to clean up the miss quotes? The thread is extremely long and takes forever to load cause some ppl have quoted my 1st post with all the pictures?

mine has the C8VE-E heads

as white 89 said

intake port size 260-270 CC

intake valve 2.09'' exhaust 1.65''

yours have the same dimensions just a bigger thermactor boss for emissions(mine does not have thermactor plugs or passages drilled)

if i was you, i would not get rid of those heads, you can make stupid power out of them in factory config..that is unless you find a set of D00E-R heads( SCJ head)

if you really want to open that engine up, work on the exhaust ports. The 385 engine family flowed amazing on the intake side, but horrible on the exhaust

Those are really decent heads. I echo your statement DJ... hang on to them, unless you find a killer deal on CJ or SCJ heads.
