Default How to Wire Lights...

I have 4 small amber lights that I'm going to mount in the grill. I would like the lights to stay on with key. The 2 farthest lights I would like to blink with that sides blinker. I don't know if it can be done or not. I'm not too handy when it comes to wiring. I know there are some great people of wires on this sight so thanks in advance.

You could wire the two to the parking lights and then the other two to the turn signal perhaps. I'm not sure if that is legal though.

What I would do is follow my wiring setup for this, do the left two to the left signal, and right two to the right. It's a simple setup, and works flawlessly. I know mine are on my mirrors, but if you do the same resistor, diode, diode, setup you'll get the same effect. They'll light up half way for running lights, and flash with the signals.

Thank you very much BrowningSCrew! Should have known, you sure do know you wires. I do appreciate the knowledge you share. It takes a lot of time to do what you do with those wires! You had that answer ready, how do I find out if you have other questions already answered without bothering you?

No problem, you can PM me, or go through any of my write ups if you have any other questions. On the app go to my profile and you can see all the threads I've started.

I don't know how to PM so I'll just do what I know. I have the wires from the blinker and the ones from the parking light separated and found the one that blinks. I just used a multi meter and a light to find them but as you know what I found was the wire that drops power for the blinker and the one that has power from the parking light. I purchased the required stuff from Radio Shack. I thought I'd check with you before cutting and making mistakes. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, KP.

That's what I was thinking but most of the time things aren't that easy for me. It usually gets a little deeper. That is exactly what I was thinking but I would think you would have to separate the power. Thanks, KP.

Brown is the power wire for the running lights. Not sure which color for the turning though. You may be able to test the wire when the turn signal is on to see if it has power.. But I may just be talking out my *** lol

I would probably run a Hotwire to them from the trailer light harness. I don't think they run off a voltage drop.
