Default Help Please!!!

i have a 2002 f150 with a 4.6 and i have the passenger side cam not rotating while it is running. i dont know if there is a cam phaser on it. but i am also not getting any codes for the camsaft. but i looked down in the valve cover and noticed that it was not rotating from what it looked like to me. how do i make sure it is all set right when i go and change whatever broke?

I'm sorry, someone smarter than me will surely help soon but are you saying one of your camshafts is not rotating while the engine is running?

Something happened with the timing chain or gear. Any noises before hand or currently ?

If you suspect no cam movement, pull the cover. You might see that the chain is missing.

If you had a camshaft not rotating, you would have SEVERAL codes, not necessarily for the camshaft. At a bare minimum, all four cylinders should show a misfire, and I'd expect your oxygen sensors to be doing some talking, too. If you really think that's happening, you've got no choice but to pull at least that valve cover and the front cover and see what's up.

I am getting codes but no miss fire codes. Just an egr code one for the o2 sensor

Usually you won't get misfire DTC's when a chain breaks with gen 10 monitors. Surprised it's running though. Hows it running lol ?
