Default help new problem.

Hey guys, I own a 2000 ford f150 4.6 2wd, just did new brakes, rotors, lower ball joints, control arms, now found new problem after 2 days of driving it. Truck drove like a champ before this happen, it was raining and flooding the other night but I avoided it whenever I would drive home from work. Now after I hit 60mph shakes, rattles, or sounds like something is falling apart grinding. Noise comes underneath the vehicle where I sit at. Ive noticed my fuel is decreasing quiclkly too. any suggestions?

Get under truck and check everything to make sure it's tight. Did you do the work or did you pay a shop.

Make absolutely sure it's not misfiring. If it is, once the raw fuel ignites in the exhaust, it'll can seal the cats just about shut. Cat deterioration happens quickly.

If your rear axle has been submerged in water without a tight breather tube connected, - contamination and that vibration can get right under your feet as well.

Since the exhaust damper is somewhat weak and the trans mounts only last 100,000 miles, all vehicle vibrations often end up right under your feet.

In other words, - it could be coming from anywhere.

Did you get an Alignment after the front end work (shaking) ... double check the brake job for the grinding noise..

Since you stated it started doing this after driving through water, was the water deep enough that you could have contaminated your transmission? Also check your brake job, could be a loose caliper. May just be a coincidence but also check your u-joints.

Looks to me like the leak is the transmission or maybe coming back from the engine. Can you see anything from under the hood.
