Default Gem module

So here's the story. And yes I have searched up and down Google and various websites but I can't find an answer.

I got my windshield tinted on Monday. It is now Tuesday night. So about 24 hours ago. When I was driving it my wipers wouldn't work in drive or reverse so I figured they got my gem wet. Wasn't too upset about it. Told the shop and they claimed wasn't them (of course) they claimed water would have drained onto the other side of the fire wall and so on and so forth. Then later that night my starter would kick on sometimes. I drove it shortly that night. When I Parked it last night I disconnected the batterie so it wouldn't go off during the night. Then I drive it this morning. And of course disconnected the batterie on my way in. Reconnected and drove home. Now I tried to start my truck and the starter made a lot of clicking noise. Now it does nothing when I turn the key. Windows won't go up, doors kind of lock kind of not. That stuff. Now I'm wondering. Is my starter bad? Does my gem just need time to dry? Do I have to take out my gem and disassemble it and dry it out? Or worse case IS MY GEM BAD?!? Thank you for taking the time to read this. I'm sorry for such the long post and how this comes up all the time with the leaky windshield but I haven't been able to find an answer.

If water got into it you may get lucky and it dry out if left alone. Problem being if it got wet and you drove it then it could have fried a circuit. If that is the case then a new gem is in your future. I would just pull it and see what you have.

I figured I would be fine driving it. People talk on here about going for weeks with a leaky windshield. So I believe I read I have to pull the lower driver side area of dash then a few bolt and electrical connections correct? Anything to difficult? Any idea how long it will take to dry out?

It really isnt the hardest thing to change. If I were going through the trouble of pulling one out I would put a new one in just to keep from pulling it again.

You could find a good used one on amazon or ebay for less than $150. Just be sure to match your part numbers.

Probally gonna try to take it out tonight or tomorrow and see if I can dry it out. Now when I try to start it it clicks then cuts everything.

Once the GEM gets wet and recieves power its done. Take the serial nu,ber and program number and try to find a good used one. New Remans from Ford are going for a whopping $675.

Pulled gem last night. It's currently attempting to dry about above my fire place. Can anyone tell me what numbers I need and how to search on eBay and what to tell junkyards I need? Are they truck specific? Like by trim package?
