Flowmaster of no muffler?
I'll tell yuh. It's chambered and traps gases within the exhaust system. Gases that require more from the engine to push free. That's why they're nick named Slowmasters. Flowmaster does have a good straight thru design/series, -racing mufflers. Can't recall the name of the series, but I'm sure you could find it, if a genuine desire exists. Starts with an L lol. Their mufflers sound good IMO, but some can hurt performance vs improving it.
Flowmaster's chambered mufflers do not trap exhaust gases within the system. Flowmaster's chambered mufflers have been engineered to increase the scavenging effect, extracting exhaust gases from the system. In turn, Flowmaster mufflers improve vehicle performance by increasing exhaust velocity and freeing up usable power. We offer 15 different series of street mufflers. Choosing the correct Flowmaster muffler for your vehicle application is the determining factor in performance.
Well shoot, I gave yuh a few plugs, -didn't really go totally against myself. Since you quoted me, you don't leave much choice. To presented the facts, -what a Flowmaster setup is doing is actually *reducing* torque on part throttle at any rpm, and reducing torque below about 3000 rpm a at any throttle position - and that is due to all those silly baffles & chambers they use as part of their "sound engineering" - all they are is impediments to airflow, and slow down exhaust gas velocity, which is why you don't see much in the way of HP gains form them, and actually lose torque, especially in the lower rpm ranges. When it comes to torque, exhaust gas *velocity* is absolutely key, and we need all we can get with these trucks.

Lol I was thinking this same exact thing. Flowmaster is just trying to speak to hold their name. But, I find it ironic how their name is "FLOW" Master, but they clearly can't figure out how to master the flow of exhaust gases by removing their stupid muffler baffles that slow down exhaust. Their whole theory of "it helps increase exhaust velocity and increase performance" is a load of BS.
