This is my first truck and I've heard people mention different trims.
Could some one educate me on this?
My truck is a 98 2wd 2dr 6.5 bed. Is it a regular cab?
What's extended cab, super cab, super crew, Fx2,fx4, etc?

Yes yours is a regular cab
extended cab and super cab are the same with one or two half size suicied doors in the rear
super crew or crew is four full size doors
FX2 is a two wheel drive with a sporty street truck look
FX4 is an off road package with rancho shocks and skid plates
xl is base trim manual windows and locks bench seat plain jane truck
xlt is a middle base power locks windows 60-40 front seat usually nicer interior than Xl
Lariat is everything that xlt has plus power seats and leather

 

what about stx? i feel forgotten...

 

thats basically the new xl just basic features nothing fancy

 

The earlier years of the STX were actually XLTs with color matched grill and bumpers, tach, v8, etc, and the funky STX decals on the side.

The 04 and up STX trucks are now 1/2 step up from the XL, no carpet,etc.

 

Was there ever a 97-03 that had an eddie bauer trim package? I have heard of it, and some of the guys at the dealership I work at were telling me thats what I have, but I was skeptical because usually there is an emblem or two that says eddie bauer limited ed or something. They said mine was bc it has the gold two tone, and a purple pin stripe between the red and gold. I know it sounds pretty weird but it is next to impossible to notice.

So Lariat is top of the line and HD is special edition right?
A guy at my work has an 08 HD black with Orange side stripes and black rims.
It's so fricking hot.

 

You forgot Sport edition.. 97-03...

FX2 is 04' and up..

Harley Davidson is just a special edition. Supercharged, black leather interior, sporty...

Then you got the Lightning. Supercharged with sporty suspension and what not. Interior is oka... I don't think any of them came with leather.

Actually you forgot King Ranch, which is a more expensive leather which is top of the line over Lariat...
