Engine failure to start
Pulled into a customer yesterday to check out a job. Truck was running fine when I parked. After checking out the job for needed parts, I got into my F150 to leave. Cranked engine and it immediately stalled. When I tried to start again it starts and then again stalls. Does this sound like a Camshaft sensor or Crankshaft sensor? I checked the codes with my ScangaugeII and there isn't any codes listed. Today I am going to get the truck on a rollback and bring it home for testing. Maybe I can check out the new Rotunda Diagnostic System that I purchased for myself for Christmas.
The starting and stalls has me thinking it's fuel related. Once the crank sensor goes, there isn't a start at all. Like wilson posted, check the fuel pump or relay perhaps. I'd zero in on both; besides, fuel should always be first.
Also, if it were the inertia breaker, there again, there would be no start period. Not in my experience anyway.
Let us know for sure what you find.
Have any pics of that Rotunda devise? Sounds nice!

Went to my truck on Sunday and took a Camshaft Position Sensor sense That is what I thought was needed. I figured that sense it tried to run, it had a spark and some fuel. I installed the sensor (took about 5 minutes) and the truck started right up and was ready to drive. Now if only the leaking heater core was so easy to take care of. On Saturday I purchased a replacement for my 2001 (2006 F150). It has a lot of miles but runs good. It is a plain Jane truck with nothing extra. I want to add cruise control sense I like to use it a lot. I will be posting some questions on the newer 150 site for info on this.
Thanks for the input.
