The VK56 is a very stout engine. I actually like the exterior and driveline. The interior is what has driven me away.

Ok this may be a stupid question, but oh well. So I know you need 7700 torsion bars for a 4r100 swap and didn't 99 and newer expeditions come with 4r100s? Could you just use a 4wd expedition torsion bar instead?

didn't think so haha I was just wondering. So why do f150s require 7700 bars but expeditions don't have to have special bars?

Expeditions use the torsion bar crossmember as a intregal support for the frame near the lower links for the rear suspension.

So I started doing the intake manifold gaskets on my dad's 98 4.6 today. I got the manifold off and it had alot of oil in it, so I took out all the coolant sensors, separated the upper and lower intake, and then stsrted to spray out the lower intake with water to clean it. Well after about a minute of this I noticed there was another electrical plug on the back bottom side of the intake that I forgot to take out. So I took that out and it's a motor that controls a flap that separates the 2 half of the intake. What is this for? When would it be open or closed? And is it gonna be damaged from being sprayed with water?

That would be for Intake manifold runner control. It changes the overall length of the intake runner dependant of need. I disabled mine. `
