There's a great write up on that install. F 1 5 0 0NLINE somewhere in the lightning forum. I recall the guy being meticulous/picky about it. Excellent photos as well, I believe he's a photographer, so that didn't hurt lol.

You see that one yet?

No I haven't, could you get me a link to it if you don't mind? If you need to email the URL to me just PM me and I'll give you my email address. I know the forum can be picky about what links you post to other forums and such.

You weld the exhaust pipe to the collector, which bolts to the header.

Wait I thought the collector was the part of the header where all four tubes come together into one and is all welded to the header as a whole?

The collector is considered that and the piece of pipe that bolts to the end of the headers and is welded to the exhaust pipes.

The collector and flange is already on the headers.

Ahh okay. I noticed that in the eBay ads selling the pacesetter long tubes for 5.4 2v 2wd trucks didn't make any mention of the flange or anything. It just showed the header collector stopping and it was just a bit 3" tube and nothing else.

Most long tubes don't have those flanges as tyler pointed out. Short tubes typically bolt up to stock down pipes
