Right, your already on the lean side with headers alone..just a little, not bad, but your closer to the lean/dtc set side of the margin. That leak should set both banks lean for sure.

Don't those use a gasket in there? Purdy sure they do. Might need a new gasket , but yea, an exhaust shop can fix that one easy, - shouldn't be that expensive. Might wanna make sure they have a gasket on hand in case they have to order one...the wait.

No body believed me way back when about the differences in metals, - OBX made a killing! Which took away from Dynatech/Kooks.

But yea, Pace setter uses the good stuff. Over the Christmas holiday the kids (niece and nephew) and I went out in the shop to start the truck and do a little work on it (they're into that stuff lol). Truck didn't start. Found two problems. The connection from the solonoid (piggybacking the starter) and post was severed. Turns out the starter manufacturer used a small 100% steel chip to join the copper solenoid braid to the copper post via spot weld. Yea! Well that of course corroded and failed, just from sitting. So we pulled starter and replaced it with a tinned piece of copper.

They other problem was high resistance at the frame ground. Always hated the fastening system Ford went with there, so that was are other project. Pulled cable harness and planed to weld in a frame bung/ solid landing to except a 1/0 tinned copper lug.
Damn factory hole was right under #1 primary and I didn't want to take the header loose..it's never leaked lol. I attempted drillining the frame out to receive the bung and the Milwaukee drill chuck ground a hole in #1 primary at the same time.. @#^%$^!! - That's what I get for trying to cheat and not paying attention.

Anyway I can attest now to exactly how good the Pacesetter steel is. It is 16 gauge and yes, mine have been on the truck for 15 years, so they have a coating of rust. BUT the rust is just a very thin coating that sands right off. It goes so far and strops completely, absolutely no flaking on these headers. The headers were a tem minute fix, since I had everything handy, - didn't even have to move from my seat to weld them up lol. Didn't even have to disconnect any feeds on the truck, - already done since I was welding on the frame as well, so yea , no ties to the PCM/electrical. I had smaller 23 wire in the mig, thought about bumping it up, but it worked fine. The primary was an easy fill, - one grind, then finish fill. Didn't even have to finish weld, but there were a couple little specs, -could of been pin holes so I hit it again.

But great metal use from Pacesetter, - perhaps aluminized steel, a grade of it anyway.

My helpers, -

Little Darren Dangerous, at least that what's I call him now. - Always wanting to catch things on fire. Unfortunately, he didn't get to do all that much,- for too long anyway. Great Go-fer tho!

Then there was Addy, little smarty. She did great, fun to watch lol. Had here try to fill some holes in. Not using MEGA fuses anymore, so I had her fill the old plate in. Will use as mount for something else later.

Attempted to teach her the 2 second rule for spot/filling. Problem was, she couldn't get past 1 without say wow or making some other kid noise. No big deal, except she never let off the trigger.
So I attached a piece of solid 1/4" copper plate to the piece in efforts of keeping the holes to a minimum. That didn't even work out, but it was allot of fun!

Heard you guys were having a meet, don't know any details tho.

Hey, WHY is your truck leaking oil @ pan matting surfaces? Wrong RTV used at the corners? Around the main ? What ? Guess it's been on my mind.

@Carcrazygts2 can you get this stuff cheaper..Dri-Loc 2353?

Best prices I've found, anyone want to go in on it? I'll split a pint lol -

This is the new blue, - it's been upgraded, the old has been discontinued.

_______________

LT Dri-seal Vibra-seal (orange 516).

To many benefits, have to have some. This is the best stuff. Pre-applied. Meaning you can apply to fasteners once and re-use over and over again. Revives old fasteners restoring correct torque values and maintaining them.

Guess it's only a big deal when you have an old truck that's been taken apart allot lol.

Yea, that's the cheapest, very hard to find retailers since there's so many in the business that offer coating the bolts for you. This stuff is also what ALL auto manufacturers use. There's a list at the site and Ford is on it many times over.

I have pint of blu, vibra orange, and yellow. I dont any. But i'll look around. My pacesetters are rusted at all. Mine were Ceramic coated by dippining after I got them. SO the inside is coated also.
