Electrical knife switch please help
I recently bought a negative battery terminal knife switch and thought it would be great. If I had to work on something I could break the switch to the terminal. Also if I had to leave the truck in a crappy area no one would be able to steal it. But someone mentioned to me that disconnecting the negotiating for more that a couple minutes could be bad for the battery and computer. Is this true I have never heard of this and I am now questioning if I should install it. Please help

All the disconnect would be doing is clearing yer radio presets and clearing the KAM in the PCM, hence clearing Adaptive.
No biggie - next time you start yer truck and drive it for a while, it'll relearn.
The ONLY downside is if yer in an emission testing region - a disconnect will set a P1000 code and all of the IM Readiness tests will not have run - could result in a test fail if it's not driven enough prior to testing to complete the drive cycle.
Don't make a daily habit of disconnecting the batt and you'll be fine.
FWIW - it's generally considered safer to disconnect the NEGATIVE terminal.

Whoever told you that is an idiot. All the disconnect would be doing is clearing yer radio presets and clearing the KAM in the PCM, hence clearing Adaptive. lol I live in suburbs of New Jersey yet work in New York City I have a company vehicle to work out but my truck occasionally make a trip into the city and I've done a lot of work to my truck it was my first car and still my daily trivet after ten years so I would be devastated if some punk stole it for a joy ride
