You have a chip in your key. Without the chip, even if they get the engine to fire, it will die right away and not restart for 15? minutes.

It's not easily bypassed, many people have tried to disable it to ease auto start installations and to get cheaper keys.

I'm a firm believer in K.I.S.S. Keep it simple stupid, the knife switch is good for me any common thief wouldn't figure it out and anyone skilled enough would not be trying to steal a 97 f150 lol

I can get into your truck without anything more than a flat screw driver.

I wouldn't have to break anything either.

Your sliding rear window is easily opened.

the thing I worry about is the blood sweat and tears that we dropped into our trucks not to mention the thousands we've spent fixing and modding them out and even with full coverage were never going to get what there worth, or should I say what we spent lol

oh yeah without a doubt, pretty sure my insurance would claim my truck to be worth like 4k and i have full coverage. I'm just guessing of course but i know its no where nearrrr what it would sell for / what I've got in it.

common man we got the same truck of course you can get in just like I know pretty much how to fully disassemble your truck we know the ins and outs of these trucks after all these years. But the idea is even if you do open/ break a window and try to hot wire it with the battery circuit not complete it won't start and a common thief would probably give up rather then get caught

you need to move to a little ranch in the middle of a corn field in Kansas. You'll never have these problems, you can leave the windows down and unlocked on a nice night.

my insurance already bought my truck for more than I paid for it. Paid 3 grand and spent about $600 to lift it. Drunk ran into it and they called it a total. Offered me 5k for it to junk it or they'd give me 4k and I could keep it. Went to eBay and got a new bumper for $120, lower valance for $40 and a new grill for $40. $200 and she's better than she was before the wreck and I have 4 grand it my pocket.
