They work as intended. Don't buy it thinking it will turn your truck into a drag truck.

The power improvements are hardly noticeable, if at all. What you will notice is the firmer shifts.

The screen is nice to keep am eye on things like trans temp and coolant temp.

The Edge Evo made more than a "hardly noticeable" difference to my '04 4.6.
Still no hot rod but better acceleration and shifts.
This and the code reading, monitoring make it one of the best mods for the money.

You have a different style truck/engine, don't you?

I have a Superchip cortex in my 5.4 and i knew it wouldn't make my truck run 8 second 0-60 but if your looking for improvement absolutely hell yes get one. if you have bigger then stock tire size. Theres a setting for that. Shift pressures? Tow mode? Why not?! I've run my truck on 93 Octane tune sense i installed my chip 2 years ago, i will never go back, and it will be one of the first things I upgrade on any truck, exhaust, intake, chip. If they did nothing why would there be a million different ones to choose from?

Had one on my 05, seemed like a worthy upgrade when I first installed it. Put it back to stock before selling and honestly didn't notice that big of a difference.

Nobody said the did nothing, Tackle just said hardly noticeable, to which I agree. I do notice a change in shifting with mine, but power wise, not really (although I admit I am just using a 87 octane performance tune, you do see some improvement with the higher octane tunes). But as said, these engines do not respond as well as newer ones do to tuners. Shifting improvement is the biggest change, especially if you went to bigger tires (speedo will read correctly and shift firmness and timing can be adjusted for the bigger tires)

So long as the OP understands it will not "wake up" his truck or give him better mileage and is realistic to what it will do then it is a good purchase, and as far as brand, no huge difference between Edge and SCT (I have heard good and bad about Hypertech for this gen).

I had one for my 01 4.6L and I'm in the same boat as everyone else, hardly notice a difference, shifts a bit harder, no speed limiter, that's about it. The stuff that really gave me noticeable power was the exhaust and taking the cats out

These trucks have a computer controlled electronic speed limiter (no idea what it is).
A tuner can remove it (but no point IMO, I know the stock one is above 100, but unless you have some tires with a speed rating to match I would not bother either). Stock tires are T rated (up to 118 mph).
