Default Dumbfounded!

So I have been having compression issue with my 97 5.4 PI Swap setup. After dping compression and leak down testing, I thought I may have had a cracked ring because of the gapless ring package may have been to tight. Well over the last oil change I had purchased some RevX used for diesels oil treatment(the stuff used by a oil of the 6.0 PSD guys). Also switch to Rotella 5W30 Synthetic diesel oil for that change. Here is what I found.

Upon change the oil I decided to do another leak down and compression check. compression on all 8 were over 180 which is great for cylinder walls that have over 190k on them. Leak down went from around 27% on the bad cylinders to around 8%. So all 8 cylinders are around 7%-8%.

But here is where I'm still having oil issues. I know now its not blow by. I installed a catch can on the PCV side to really see how much oil is being sucked thru. In over a 3500Mile oil change interval there was 1.75 qts of oil in my catch can.

So the question for you guys. How the hell do i stop this or reduce it? My typical intervals in the summer months is 3500. But I switch to a different oil and interval during the cooler months which is 5000 miles. So I am dumb founded as to why my particular truck pulls that much oil out.

So the hose to the catch can was from the pcv in the valve cover?

Yes. Its from the pcv to the valve cover. Along with the driver side breather feeding the catch can then going back to the intake.

I was pulling in a lot of oil to my intake at one point, coating everything and it ended up being a collapsed vacuum line soft connection that I never caught because I was never under the hood with the engine running.

All my vacuum lines are new. I have replaced all rubber elbows along with soft lines.

Its not a valve issue. As there is no lose in compression or leak down now. It seems to happen more on decel or anything.

Are you getting as much oil in the can now that you have changed the oil and added the treatment?

Im just curious if your new found compression (and all the factors accompanying it) will change the amount of oil you are seeing in the can.
