I surely hope so. Becuase royal purple aint cheap to begin with. My truck already uses 8.5qts to do a oil change. So buying additional quarts to keep it topped off will drive me insane.

Oh wow. I imagine that it would. Do you have a different style high capacity pan on your truck?

No. I have the factory oil filter relocation unit, but have also added a external oil cooler. Factory was 7.5. The additional oil cooler holds about a qt.

I thought factory was 6? Does e relocation kit require more oil?

Yes. The 97-99 trucks that were equipped with the optional filter relocation adapter require 7.2 to fill correctly. I have replace the lines and added additional lines for a cooler. So it take 8.5 to fill.
