Nice looking truck I bought a '03 a year ago with about the same miles on it and coming from a supercab to a supercrew has been great for room and comfort. What I like the best is having a 5.4 over the 4.6 and with my Superchips tuner I'm getting 16mpg.

Hey Torkum, planning to do the same move as you next truck. Why the 5.4 over the 4.6? Not looking for race car stuff, just want to be practical when towing my boat. My 4.2 just won't cut it on open road, have to be out of OD. Thought the 4.6 would be enough. I did get to drive a 5.4 Expedition, it was sweet!

I heard the 03s have updated heads. If that's true, the plug blow out issue wouldn't be a problem on an 03.

Well, I'll be headed down there to check it out in a few hours. Any pointers or specific things I should look or listen for when I'm reviewing the vehicle?

Thanks!

EDIT -

Well, I checked out the truck and it has quite a bit wrong with it. I told the guy $9000 out the door and he said only $12,900. I then proceeded to urinate on his desk.

So, the hunt continues.

Bill, I had a 98 F150 Supercab 2wd with a 4.6 that I really enjoyed but needed to get rid of a van we were not using so I traded the van for my 03 Supercrew and sold the 98.
Decided that I was going to get a 4x4 Lariat with leather an all along with a 5.4 for full power. Now after driving the 5.4 for a year I am glad that my big heavy truck has the hp to push it around. I think and have read that the 4.6 is a little strain for a truck of this size. Again I'm not against the 4.6 and would recommend one in a 2wd reg or Supercab but not in a 4x4.

Leather was torn in several places as well.

Guy would not budge on the price at all either.
