Differences between an 02 and 03?

Bill, I had a 98 F150 Supercab 2wd with a 4.6 that I really enjoyed but needed to get rid of a van we were not using so I traded the van for my 03 Supercrew and sold the 98.
Decided that I was going to get a 4x4 Lariat with leather an all along with a 5.4 for full power. Now after driving the 5.4 for a year I am glad that my big heavy truck has the hp to push it around. I think and have read that the 4.6 is a little strain for a truck of this size. Again I'm not against the 4.6 and would recommend one in a 2wd reg or Supercab but not in a 4x4.

Depends on how you intend to use the truck. My 02 supercab had the 4.6 and it was 4wd, it also had the 3.55ls gears. It was great for my needs until I needed to tow more than 5k lbs. Now the 5.4 does that for me with no problem
But if the need isn't there, the 4.6 is a great engine for the average person.
