Default Carpet Replacement

I just bought some vinyl flooring for my 2002 F150 XLT supercrew to replace the existing carpet. I was wondering what specific tools that I will need in order to take out the seats? I noticed there are "star" bolts holding down the seats. Also, would any of you have some tips for me to save time? any help would be appreciated.

No tips or advice it should be pretty strait forward, I'm just curious why you would replace the carpet with vinyl?

I bought this truck used and the original carpet is pretty nasty i.e. spots, crud, etc. I also had vinyl in a previous 08 STX and loved it. No matter what I put it though, it cleaned up as if nothing ever happened. Cleanup also takes a fraction of the time since you aren't constantly vaccuming over the same spot to get one bit of dirt up. This is probably lost on those who don't really care about a clean vehicle, but I for one don't really understand carpet in vehicles to begin with. There is really no need or use for it, especially in a truck. I guess I could understand it in a BMW or Mercedes.

It is nice to have, though I can see some what of you point. As i did say earlier, yeah. It is super easy to clean. It pretty much only comes in black, so if it gets discolored in anyway, just grab a can of black paint. Carpet does look better, and can really make a truck look good depending on the color. And yes, I do keep tabs on how clean my truck is. I can't stand it when it gets dirty. Those Michelin mats have helped me out a lot.
