Default This can't be right

So, a couple of days ago my transmission started making a noise that got progressively worse. Today I can't hear the noise so I look at the transmission and it appears there is a handle of a tool hanging from the bell housing. please help i don't know if this is a tool or if there are stamped parts in the bell housing that look like this. also the transfer case and transmission have been replaced in the last 2 months. I tired to uplaod a piture of this but could not it kept telling me it failed to upload. if you want to see the pictures i can send them in a email or if you can tell me how to upload it. i think the picture might be to big.

I'd be calling the place that replaced the transmission ASAP.

yeah i thought it was a wrench. i tried to take it out but the head of it is too big so i'm going to leave it in and take the photos up to them and have them take it out and fix it. how much damage can this have done? how much do i need them to replace? i don't want to get screwed because i don't know enough about it to know if they are telling me the truth when i take it up there.
