Default A/C issue

Since Ive bought the truck, the A/C hasnt worked. I charged it, and I just wasted the 20 bucks I spent because it didnt hold any of it. Any suggestions what or where the leak could possibly be?

I could care less...but when my girlfriend and I go on float trips and camping, I get sick of hearing her gripe of it being too hot (then why are you going with me?) and about her hair getting messed up. Boohoo, I know.

My a/c went out the other year and was one of the hoses that had a leak. I tried charging my self because it was dry, took it to a few shops and they couldn't figure it out, took it to the dealer and they said a/c compressor was bad because it ran so long low and empty on refrigerant. Cost $1,200 to fix hose, compressor and flush system.

For how long? It sounds like the leak is substantial. If AC goes without charge for long, moisture will enter the system. At this point, fixing just the leak may not be a wise thing to do.

Since I bought the truck a year ago. I dont really care...my girlfriend does however when we go a distance in the summer.

Why wouldnt fixing just the leak be a good thing? Cant you blow moisture out?

My apology for not being clear. I meant to say to consider replacing the dryer and the orifice as part of fixing the leak. Did you measure pressure before adding 134a? How low was it?
