Bluetooth OBD2 adapter
I found this on amazon I have a droid maxx was wondering if this would work for the torq app I know this isn't really a truck question but thought it would be the best spot to ask haha thanks. http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00PJPHEBO/ref=mp_s_a_1_2?qid=1454556679&sr=8-2&pi=SY200_QL40&keywords=bluetooth+obd2&dpPl=1&dpI D=51qXYBNlGRL&ref=plSrch

A very few cheap ones work well. Most dont. At one time it was ones with a certain elm chip that did, but then that changed and they were crap too.
Honestly..its currently $79, but scantool MX can see your other systems besides just OBDII using the forscan app, and is worth it.

Its not that awesome.
For viewing mode 6 data, the scantool OBD app is organized better.
and its mpg calculation ..is not right. It consistently gives 1+ more mpg than fuel pump.
There is no need to watch diagnostic data while you drive, unless you are troubleshooting a problem.

I'm not sure the torque app will supply a transmission temperature for our Gen 10 trucks. It may fit the 99-04(H), but not the 97-98 ones. I have the ELM327 bluetooth and find that it isn't as good as the OBD Link XL. There are other name brands of this item, but here is a link in Amazon that shows the item. It can be bought for around 20 on eBay at times. This tool seems to fit Fords rather well, as I have used it in my Mustang, Fusion and F150. Works great in all three models, different years, so I'm sold on this one. The cheaper ELM327's cut out more than they hold signal.
Theres no transmission temp in this generation truck accessible with a simple obdii reader.
You see basic engine operating parameters, coolant temp, fuel trims, throttle position, maf flow, o2 sensor voltages, rpm, vehicle speed. The data pcm uses to control engine.
As well as mode 06 misfire counts, and codes.
Also innaccurate mpg calcs. These are based on vehicle speed and theoretical fuel consumption. I dont know if they calc the fuel from injector cycles and duration, or just ratio it off of the MAF, probably the latter. I do know mine is wrong .
Some people want to display torque screens while they drive around. Its pretty silly imo. one good thing about torque, is it communicates over bluetooth without affecting streaming apps like spotify or pandora, my scantool app wont work at same time as these.

You can absolutely see your trans temp. When I am pulling tractors or my 20 ft mako I am watching my trans and coolant temps. You have to dial in the settings so it will give the correct mpg but it is as accurate as you make it.
So you can or can not see trans temps? Lol
