Default Bent A Valve

Alright guys I bent a valve on the #2 cylinder yesterday... I want some opinions on what to do. Option A: Tear the head off and replace the valve, possibly the head if need be. Option B: Pi swap. Option C: Aftermarket heads. Any other opinions appreciated!

If I was getting down that far, I'd go with B. Proven, and cheaper than aftermarket.

4K rpm should not have bent a valve, unless there was some kind of contact with it. Are you sure the cam follower didn't just pop out?

Right, how do you know you bent a valve?

I did once, but I was upside down.

I guess I'm not totally sure, I haven't been able to run a compression test yet due to the fact that I didn't have the right adapter lol, but anyway I replaced the plugs and it still misses. You can hear something different about the exhaust, almost like a tick. Check engine light flashes with a p0305 code. I unplugged the injector after troubleshooting so I don't wash out the cylinder. I know I'm going to catch hell for this but it's still my daily because that's all I have. I'm just trying to figure out what my next step is.

I'd do a compression test comparison, you SHOULD of done that while swapping out the plugs. It would of told you for sure if there was a problem with that cylinder.

Like 97 posted, you may have just lost a follower, easy fix!

Just do a quick and easy comp test, cross check numbers 1,2,5 and 6. That would tell yuh. I wouldn't guess the worst without some confirmation. An adapter really ? I guess you could borrow a real compression tester from Autozone, - since it's free.

Here's a Ford write up I put together, -
