Ok so those are dyno runs for the 1) Rockford 500.1 and the 2) MTX 500.1. Considering your setup and the RMS power handling of your sub I would save a few dollars and go with the RF.
Do you have any thoughts on the sound stream Ohio linked?

Also the Rockford looks pretty good, and amazon has some glowing reviews on it... if you think that'll be plenty for my truck I'll be happy to save a few bucks... but like I said I don't want to waste money either so if I need to not "cheap out" and get the mtx thunder... It's not out of the ball park.

Speaking of ball parks... yeah whitey the HCCA is way more than I'm spending right now LOL. The reviews on them are very strong tho

Well you see I am a real big rockford fan. I've had a few over the years and they have always done over rated power. I haven't heard great things about soundstream lately tbh.

Since your sub will only handle 300 you will max it out before that RF amp even gets close to distorting when its tuned correctly. The bright side is if you do manage to blow it you can go back with a 2 ohm setup and push twice the power. Lol

Fair enough. I've always heard good things about RF. Amazon twisted my arm... free delivery today... so it's on it's way lol.

If you don't mind sticking around... I've got some tuning questions as well. I feel like I can generally play around with the EQ and other options to make it sound ok but I'd like it to sound good not just ok lol

I think you will be pretty happy with that amp man. I had their 250.1 on a shallow RF rated to handle 250 and I had to keep that amp at 3/4 of the appropriate gain just to keep from killing it.

I'll keep an eye out for any updates on this thread to help you getting it set up.

How the hell are they getting it to you so fast anyway?

Edit: I went through the specs on your head unit and your current pioneer has 4 volt pre outs. That makes tuning pretty straight forward.

No clue but I was looking at it one last time and noticed it said "get it today if you order in the next 1hr and 14mins" free shipping and free returns .... I was like ok well I can't say no to that LOL

I've heard amazon will ship things closer to you if you've had them in your cart or wishlist for a while, in hopes to intice you with quick shipping options; no clue if that's true but this amp wasn't far from home. The origin warehouse is about 40mins from me

I get stuff next day quite often. I have an Amazon warehouse about 25 miles from me though. I've always attributed it to that, as that is when I started getting the "get it tomorrow" option.

In fact, I ordered a wall plate last night.... it was right after the Baltimore/Tennessee game. It will be here today.

I'm sure you'll be happy with that RF amp. I'll agree that Soundstream today isn't what they were "back in the day," but I'm still happy with this little 5-channel. According to some tests/reviews I've seen It's probably not putting out rated power, but I don't need to blow the doors off the truck (any more). SQ is more important to me than SPL nowadays.

Looking forward to seeing it go in.

I want to get a new amp for my Toyota. My Pioneer gets hot enough to cook a steak. No joke.

After doing a little research today I found out that sony has a high output double din that would put out 45 rms to the doors and has android auto. I think that may be my next upgrade if I can ever get caught up. Lol
