Only cutting the top. You can see finished pics in my "Starting Over..." thread.

I finally figured it out. I too left the bar in place. Seemed structurally wrong to cut it. I ended up having to trim the outer radio bezel near the top to allow the trim ring to set in properly. Looks fantastic!

 

I know this is an old thread. But will the Android head unit Play back the video files from a dash cam that is in AVI format, and will the usb port power the cam??

 

How's it working? Can you post pics of it installed?
