Got a question for anyone that can help me.I have an 02 f150 and the abs light keeps coming on.I replaced the sensor in the rear diff. because it is a known problem.This did nothing.The light is still on and the break peddle just started to get the same feeling you get when you try to stop real fast on ice.I have checked the front abs sensors plugs and they are still together.Just don't know what to do next.If anyone can help it would be alot of help me.

 

its gunna sound funny but jack your front end up. one A arm at a time and check you wheel bearing because the setup that they use tends to screw up the abs

 

Thanks very much I will try that.I has know idea the wheel bearings would have anything to do with my abs problem.So if I find a problem with a bearing I should replace it and this mite solve the problem?thanks again.

 

i`ve worked on f-150s-450s where it has an abs light on its due to a bad wheel bearing they`re real simple to do 3- or 4 bolts from behind and it good.. just get the whole hub assembly its easier and chances are the abs senor oor the bolt will break off in the hub.

I am very interested in this topic as well.
I have NO ABS light come on, but when I have to brake, 1 in every 5 times I feel the ABS kicking in. You here that springing sound under your feet like you are braking on ice.

where u dont have a light on.... does your light even work? to check just turn ur key to the on position and see if the idiot light turns on for a min if it does then it works and id have to say the abs module may b going bad... my truck right now just threw an abs code... i did the front hubs 4500 miles ago and the rf sensor went but the lights on... sooo hence why id say ur module may b bad if the light doesnt come on...

 

Ok after weeks of looking and checking out my truck.I found that my problem was from a broken wire in the wiring harness going to the sensor on the rear diff.The light kept throwing a code for bad sensor on the rear diff.I replaced it twice then I spent a couple hours under it untill i found the wire problem.

 

I'm having the same pedal knock for 25-15 mph replaced rotors pads. and rears...hub Bearings are fine...ford says that they are starting to get problems with 98-03 abs contollers..I get no light either..also check the wiring harness grounds..if the ground for the abs contoller is bad it will cause it to kick in at low speeds...back the car up at a high rate of speed and slam on the brake..if you getno knock the abs controller is bad
