Default 4x4

My 4x4 is not working and I have checked the fuses and replaced everything including the transfer case actuator, vacuum solenoids, the in dash switch, and gem module, the diaphragm on the front axle works bc i supplied power to the solenoids via the battery and it is working properly. When try to put it in four wheel drive nothing happens, no clicking in the dash and no lights on the cluster. I believe it could be a relay or a bad ground. Would anybody happen to know where the all the grounds and relays are? Thanks

You sound like me... I fixed mine about 1.5 years ago. Do your windshield wiper intermittent speeds not work well by chance? Specifically do they work when in Park or Neutral but not consistently while in Drive? If so this is another symptom of a transfer case mode switch. When i found my issue i found out these two systems are linked. Your wipers take information from the transfer case mode switch to determine how fast they should wipe when on intermittent mode (faster at higher speeds). The part cost me about 25 bucks and took about 10 minutes to change. Good luck!

You really need to give more information. Year/Engine/Transmission etc. Your local auto-parts warehouse should be able to find you the part if you tell them you need a transfer case mode switch.

Oh and don't confuse this with the switch on your dash. This switch is a "switch" by name only it just tells the other systems which mode your transfer case is in.

i'm having difficulty locating the exact part you need via google, i don't recall how i found it last time. The part is located on the front of your transfer case it's a super easy swap. I'd call Ford and ask them about it. The service bulletin with this information is bulletin number 97-11-19 and it refers you to Part Number E7TZ-7E440-A. I think this should be your part: http://www.mypartsgarage.com/wells-a...ch-sw4768.html. But SERIOUSLY call ford and get a real part number via your VIN. I take no responsibility if this doesn't fit your truck. Good luck

Sorry to bother you again, but i have bought the switch that you told me about but i can not locate it on the transfer case. I looked all around for any wires running to the transfer case and still couldn't find it. Could you possibly help me?
