Default Windshield Noise

Have an '05 SCREW that we bought last year. I've noticed on several long trips I get a lot of wind chatter along the bottom of the windshield. It came with the full size ranch hand grill guard. I've always assumed the noise came from a leaking window seal but am now wondering if it's possible the noise is caused by the grill guard. It's mostly above 70mph highway speeds and seems to be worse when windy. Since I've never had a truck with the grill guard on it I'm hoping that's the cause. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

I noticed the rubber filler piece for the passenger side is missing again. This occurred before the latest trip. Is this possibly the cause?

The rubber filler piece wasn't the culprit. I also used a stethoscope when at highway speed to try and isolate it. I could hear the sound (like crackling ice) when driving but I couldn't hear it with the stethoscope anywhere. I've experienced the noise at highway/wind speeds ever since I bought the truck a year ago (05 SCREW). It has a full size RanchHand grill guard that sticks up just above the front of the hood. This is the first truck I've ever had with a grill guard. Is it possible this is the culprit causing the crackling ice sound when on the highway?
