Default What muffler

I have a 2004 f150 5.4 3v and I deleted rear 2 cats and welded in a flow master 40. I don’t like the sound of the muffler. Need help choosing new muffler.

I use two, thrush-welded. Sounds amazing when I get on it, a little drone, and a light, bumbly idle

I like the 70,very tight yet mellow sound when cruising and perfect amount roar when you get on it.
But search your truck on YouTube with different mufflers to see what you like.

Like Tech said, what dont you like about it? Too loud, too much drone? The 'tin can' sound? etc. Mufflers are so subjective, it's hard to steer someone in the right direction. What sounds good to you, may not to others.

Give it a listen. It's what I run.

And these are my recordings (notable because I include an inside the cab example)

Just read a thread about putting a '09-up take-off exhaust on an 04-08 truck. Sounds like the tailpipe and muffler bolt right on, with a little work on the front. Could be an alternative unless you want *loud*.

So do you like that mellow growl, or that deep rumble?

It sounds like a Tin can flying down the road. I like a deeper growl. Some guys told me magnaflow.
