Deep growl, magnaflow would be a good way to go. That's probably the classic muscle car sound, or most of the cat-back trucks out there right now.

I have a magnaflow on mine. It is the 14" series and its 4" diameter. I was worried when I got it that it would be too loud because there are no chambers, it is straight through with acoustic packing on the sides. Actually quite loud when you get on it, but no drone, and a fairly quiet idle.

^^ Ok that's a little creepy... but impressive none the less, especially if they offer a full or partial solution.

May be too late for good input, but I'm running a take-off raptor exhaust on mine. It's not crazy loud, but it sounds better than stock, and far less droney on the highway than the magnaflow that was on the truck when I bought it. Best part is that it cost me $130 all in. just had to get a wire wheel on my drill after the tips to clean up the rust.

I just installed Flowmaster 50 series (845325)on my 2006 and couldn't be happier. I want to hear my engine but I don't want the whole neighborhood to have to hear it. This fits the bill.

Any drone? I've contemplated putting a 50 series muffler under mine, but I'm on the road a ton. I can't have much highway drone.
