Can someone tell me what this is? I've had this truck for 2 years and never noticed it until today when it apparently came loose from the rear view mirror and was hanging down, so I stuck it back up to the mirror base. It looks like some kind of factory garage door opener or something. Or is it the sensor for the automatic headlights? Any ideas?

I believe that is your compass. Somebody correct me if I'm wrong.

Your auto light sensor is on the dash with your red theft light.

Hmm....that's interesting. I don't recall having a compass anywhere on my gauges or on the rear view mirror. I'll have to look again. Maybe it's been there; I just haven't noticed it

Yep, compass module. I have a direction indicator on my dash in the little LCD area for the Lariat that shows the Trip counter, miles to empty, etc.

My light sensor is also located in that thing. Although that sticker in the windshield is where I have to cover to make my lights come on, so I am guessing your truck doesn't have auto on headlights, or the light sensor is not in the same place as it is in my 05 XLT.
