I called my local service center and asked for a quote on some parts and labor. Specifically, I wanted info on suspension part prices and what they'd charge to replace them. Here's what I got back:

Iappologize for the delay in response but I do have the quotes you requestedlisted below. Let me know if you would like to schedule an appointment forthese services.

frontstruts $113 each (X2) $197.28 labor

rearstruts $71.42 each (X2) $78.91 labor

left handcontrol arm $585.51, right hand control arm $585.51, and $197.28 labor (forboth)

left handupper control arm $211.62, right hand upper control arm $209.03, and $263.04labor (for both)

frontlower ball joint $87.44 each (X2) and $386.26 labor

frontsway bar $76.97 each (X2) and $52.61 labor

Per myparts department your veh does not have struts or coil springs.
Note the bolded sections... I was pretty sure the rear had shocks, not struts, and my truck most definitely does have coil springs up front. And the lady says I don't have struts... but she gave me quotes for front and rear struts. She also gave me prices for lower control arms, but I didn't ask for those.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but this might not be the place to get any work done?

I'd stay away. From your posts on here you seem like you know quite a bit. Why not tackle the job yourself?

Oh I intend to, but sometimes when I do a fairly large job I like to get a quote to see what kind of money I've saved. Plus sometimes I get lucky and their part prices end up cheaper than what I can do myself, so I'll swing by and pick up whatever it is from them.

But in a case like this, I had to post the email here to see if I might have been wrong about my truck all along, such as maybe I had the wrong names for certain parts or maybe my truck does / does not have something I thought it did / didn't. I needed a double check just in case.

Gotcha. You are correct. Struts up front and shocks in the back

The prices are fair when you do standard markup and labor. The person quoting could have just got their words mixed up. I typically see no need to change the LCA's though. The bushings and ball joints are both serviceable.

You didn't read... I wasn't worried about the prices and I didn't ask about LCAs, she just put them in there on her own

I can't tell what that symbol on the end is. It looks like either a cat in a circle or a shopping cart... also in a circle. What it be?

Apple emoticons must not transfer well... It's the one with the crazy dude sticking out his tounge. I'm not on my computer so I don't have access to the board's emojis

EDIT... Let's try this.
