Angry Trade in Value BS

So for my 25th BDay on Sunday, I went to trade in my 06 KR on a new Mustang GT and those only wanted to give me 12,500 for my truck which is an insult! They've got an almost identacle one out on thier lot for 24,995 and they wanna tell me that my truck has dropped 10,000+ dollars in the matter of only 10 months. So I gave home-boy the finger, told him to go himself and walked out. It took every bit of civility in my system not to whoop the jerk's . Any one else run into these problems?

Wow! That is pretty insulting. Did he give any reason as to why they were only gonna give you that much?

Doesn't surprise me one bit. Dealers are gonna do what they got to to keep the doors open. And I'm sure that was a starting point, knowing they had plenty of wiggle room.

Nope, just told me that was as much as they could give me. I told him that was bull and that I researched the value of my truck on KBB and he said that the "internet doesn't know anything". After hearing that I was enraged and asked him where he got his info on the value of my truck and he couldn't respond but that they have a system that they use. Moron. So I've decided to just try to sell my truck out right for what I owe.

No wiggle room there, although I expected something simular. But he kept comparing my KR to basic model F150s. Tried talking him up but he acted like he was already maxed out. So that'll be the last time I try to trade in a vehicle. Never have I had someone try to me over for so much.

Oh I know, but to offer 10K lower than the value is just stupid and greedy, period.

Been there done that....that's why I avoid dealers at all cost. I trade with individuals only now.
