Default towing question

hi, towards the end of the month i might be towing my friends car to west virginia from NJ. about a 4-5 hour trip. my question is: i have mud tires on my truck now and a leveling kit. is it bad to tow something as heavy as a car with mud tires? should my tires be at a certain PSI for better towing? i also heard towing with mud tires sucks and makes your truck be all over the road aka the ride is very "bouncy and floaty"

Load range is what matters..... nothing else...

IE my BFG AT/KO's are 'considered' off road tires but are load range E and can have up to 80 PSI...

Some mud tires run at 20 PSI normal and 5-15 psi off road...

the side of your tire will tell you alot...

If the load rating on the tire isnt up to snuff... well

I towed a 3.5 ton excavator total weight was close to 8500lbs with 295/70/18 trail graps with no problems. Only about 45 min cruise each way but had no issues

PLEASE!!! GO LOOK AT YOUR TIRES....

ALL MUD TIRES ARE DIFFERENT yes people tow with mud tires.... IF those mud tires can withstand the weight.

Can yours?

Go look at the load rating on the sidewall please.... this is to ensure your safety and everyone else on the road beside you not just me bantering.

It will say... Load Rating: E or C or something... report back or google it to see if your even close in weight rating...

Which is fine...

Trail Grappler MT is a 10 ply sidwall and load range E tire...

ALOT of mud tires are MUCH softer sidewall.... with a load range C...

good luck pulling a car on 6 ply C rated tires...(KABOOM!)
