Look at the max PSI on the tire. Most E rated tires are made to run at 80 psi when towing/hauling.

I can't remember exactly but I believe I run around 40psi. I just go by the way the tire looks and the way it wears and by the footprint in leaves on dry pavement after driving through water or something similar

Just for clarification the wrangler silent armor tires that are called for for my 2005 150 SCREW FX4 list as 2600lbs each, my factor tow cap is 9100 lbs by owners manual and 8300 lbs via various website specs with weight distrubution and 5000lbs w/o. And my payload cap is 1500+lbs. The specs are GVWR - 7200lbs, GCWR - 14000 and a CURB weight of 5577lbs. So I take from what your saying that even though these are the spec'd tires they are not rated for my truck? Or that I should not be towing the average car on a trailer with them, i.e. trailer and car are either 5000 lbs or less or I am using a WD hitch?

Are you looking at the sticker on your door our the tire specs themselves (and not fords)?

I say this because GM puts silent armors load range E on their 2500/3500 diesels....

I think your reading off the door sticker..

When I break 5-6k in weight I switch over to my weight distributing hitch.... (basically what normal RV'ers usually do too... (25 ft and beyond in travel trailer length)

That's different. It's the payload that matters. The stuff in the bed of the truck and tongue weight of trailer. Just because you are towing 5000 pounds doesn't meAn there's 5000 pounds on your tires.
